Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Introduction

SignIt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our document signing platform.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor.

Document Data

We process documents you upload for signing. All documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS. Documents are stored in SOC 2 compliant data centers.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data including page views, feature usage patterns, and performance metrics to improve the Service. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To process document signing requests and generate audit trails
  • To send transactional emails (signing requests, reminders, completions)
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Completed documents and their audit trails are retained for 7 years to comply with legal record-keeping requirements, unless you request earlier deletion. You may export or delete your data at any time through your account settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers — payment processors, email delivery services, and infrastructure providers that help us operate the Service
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Document recipients — names and email addresses of signers are shared with other parties to the same document

6. Data Storage & Infrastructure

Your data is stored in SOC 2 compliant data centers with geographic redundancy. We maintain strict access controls and conduct regular security audits. You may request data deletion at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, regular security audits, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability (export your data in a standard format)

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@trysignit.com.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the Service to function (session management, authentication). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics data is collected server-side without cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
